We’re practicing being good neighbors

Our neighbors come from all walks of life, but share a common drive and determination to lift themselves and their families out of poverty. Below are the main ways for you to be a good neighbor along with us.

Become An Ally

An Ally is a member of the community who volunteers to walk alongside Leaders on their journey to financial freedom. Allies become friends, confidants, and motivators who share in both the successes and struggles of life in community.

We are seeking Allies who are committed to contributing and learning in authentic, counter-cultural relationships. These connections are built in small groups of program participants and other volunteers, creating family units who walk through the program together. Allies also receive hands-on coaching, focused on personal growth and support, during their time in the program.

To be an Ally, volunteers commit to attend “Community Gatherings”, held every Wednesday from 6-8pm during the program. Dinner and childcare are provided!

Other Opportunities

Becoming an Ally is the main way to be involved, but not the only way. Here are other significant ways to lend your time and talents to the Neighborhood:

  • Tutor a Leader

  • Provide childcare for a Family Gathering

  • Assist with a used car purchase

  • Help us interview Leaders on Mock Interview Day

  • Volunteer at one of our graduation ceremonies

  • Help us stock our cafe!
